About Maine Parris

I'm Jermaine, a Brooklyn kid who ended up in Katy, Texas, with a camera and a lot of stories to tell.

I picked up photography in 2011 and never really put it down. What started as a creative outlet turned into something I couldn't walk away from, because once you realize you can freeze a moment that someone will look back on twenty years from now, you take that seriously.

I shoot maternity, graduation, and personal portrait sessions. Not because it's what the market told me to do, but because these are the moments that actually matter. The last few weeks of a pregnancy before everything changes. The moment a graduate finally exhales after years of hard work. The version of yourself you want to remember right now. I've lived enough of those moments personally to know they go fast, and that a great photo is the closest thing we have to slowing them down.

I'm a father of four, three boys and a girl, which means I've been on the other side of the camera plenty of times. I know what it feels like to want to get it right. That's what I bring to every session.

I spent years building my work in New York before relocating to the Houston area, and I've been doing what I love here ever since. I also work full time in education supporting students with special needs, so when I say I understand people, I mean it. Reading a room, making someone comfortable, bringing out something real, that's not just photography to me, that's just how I move.

If you're looking for someone who's going to show up, pay attention, and actually care about what you walk away with, that's what I do.
